hi there. i just found out today that my great grandmother, christena mahon faubion was born in levita 10/09/1889. apparently her father, thomas mahon was a rancher and marshall there. his wife, sarah tabor mahon went there from montana in a covered wagon with her widow mother and bros and sisters in the 1960s. i am hoping to get more info soon, and as she(christena) was very close to my aunt with whom i am corresponding re:geneaology, perhaps i can obtain some pictures of her family and the area in which they grew up. :)

My father's family, the Gene Harrells, lived there in the late 1940's to early 1950's. They lived in the country. I remember visiting Tubby's store in the 1960's and visiting with Tubby. I just have pictures of their house. I don't think I have any of Tubby's store.

Here is another. I had forgotten that Tubby's last name was Miles. We knew the Russell Family.

 I've never heard of Levita,Texas,do you know what county it is in by any chance?
I'll see if i can find something on it at www.texasescapes.com (http://www.texasescapes.com) or The Handbook of Texas Online.
If i can find it at either place, i can post what county it is in and you can check out the Texas Genweb site, and click on the counties map and look for old photos there.
