Ghost and Paranormal

Ghost and the Paranormal seem to be very popular subject over last few weeks and we wanted to post some of our experiences and some of the stories we heard from others who have had weird experiences over the years.

Over many years of out canping in several ghost towns and supposably haunted canyons over the past 45 years we didn't have any weird experiences that couldn't be explained.

A few times we spent the night in Chris Wicht's camp by the pond and do have to addmit we were on edge and did hear something those moon lite nights but brush them off with an explanation.

There is a story that you can hear old west miners gallop up and down the canyon at night. but we know that wild burros wonder all over panamint valley, so we are sure that is what we heard.

When we camped in Ballarat many times and we got to meet the famouse old prospector "Seldom Seen Slim" that a good freind of The other famouse old prospector Shorty Harris the miner that Slim said could close his eyes and walk to gold, and who discovered the famouse Bullfrog mine, And when were sitting around drinking beer one evening is when he told us about the haunting in Supprise Canyon along with other stories of the old west that he shared with us we don't know how many of them were true, but still intrigueing to say the least and we will post these stories at later time.

The other stories we heard is of the ghost "Oddie" that haunts the old Oatman Hotel in the old mining town of Oatman Arizona.

Then there is the old western gunfighters ghosts that haunts the saloons of the old mining town of Deadwood South Dakota.

We are sure that we have more stories stuck away in our archives but we will post them when we have more time.

Years ago in the old townsite of Melmont, I often walked in there with friends and in the early 70's you could still drive in there in a 4WD, I always took my German Shepherd along with me too.

Anyway on one of the trips in there a gal pal and I were walking around where all the houses used to be.

The wind came up and my dog started running around like he was playing with somebody, only there was nobody there. He would run up to "nothing" and hunker down and look up, as if looking at a person, as was his fashion when he wanted to play, then he'd dart off here and there and stop and stare up at nobody again.(I am getting goose bumps as I type this). My friend and I started hearing voices, they seemed to be in the wind. We both took one look at each other and high tailed it out of there.

I take them all with a grain of salt. And my little adventure was extremely dull, but it was certainly unusual. It was the way my dog was acting that gives me goose bumps even to this day.

I take anything I hear or read with a grain of salt, regardless of who it is. Case in point, my wife has ominous feelings whenever inside the Luxor Hotel/Casino, needless to say we don't go there much. Every person reacts/feels differently in the same situation anyway.

I have seen/heard/felt some things that were unknown, but explainable to my liking scientifically. Others, I'm still unsure of.

Animals though, they're on a another wave length. And they're honest and sincere, so them I pay close attention too.

The same dog as a matter of fact, he loved everybody, but there was one neighbor, that whenever he came near my dog, my dog would growl at him and never let him pet him.
I could never understand it. Then one day the man's house burned quite badly, he fled the state, they found mountains of kiddie porn in his house and then Boy Scouts around town started coming forward telling horrible things about the man, yes he was a Boy Scout leader for many years in town.
We are all quite happy to learn he was caught in Montana and is now in prison and I hope he is somebody's girl friend now.

I agree with the statement about animals being sensitive to the paranormal.

My chuhuahua Sausage won't go into the bathroom. Sometimes he accidently wanders in there, only to bark ferociously at the toilet, then pass out, for no apparent reason.
