The link below is to FRICKS LOCK PA, its in Northern Chester County, not far from POTTSTOWN, near a town of PARKERFORD.

It was the location of a lock on the old Schuylkill Canel. It survived, somewhat out of the way until the construction of the LIMERICK NUCLEAR Power Plant.

Being in the shadow of the plant, it was deemed unsafe for habitation (kind of scary really). I understand there are perhaps 6 or so vintage buildings there, including an old store and maybe the lock tenders house.

Hope this info is helpful...

Yes, indeed.
There is Eckley Miners Village, now considered a ghost town, although a handful of people still live there. It is the place where the film "The Molly Maguires"was filmed. (The old breaker is still there.)
I went there a few weeks ago. There are many houses in various states of disrepair, but the surroundings are still maintained. A political battle rages
regarding the future of the place. The state wants to demolish it, yet it is undeniably a historical statement of American history.
Location: I-81 S to Dorrance and follow the signs from there - or go to mapquest ...

Another fascinating place is Centralia, where the underground coal fires are still burning (more details on the web) Location: Also down I-81 to Fracksville, then along local roads to Ashland ... Have Fun
