Hi all just found this siteand found it very interesting........Just to let anyone that was planning on visiting Rawhide here in Nevada it has been destroyed by the mining here in Nevada and has been turned into a dump for California plans are in the making to ship californias garbage here and buried in the open pit left by the last mining company........I'm not against mining but think the land should have been reclaimed instead.......but for all of us out there that like to view a piece of history this is one more place that has been lost

All seroiusness aside, it's good to hear from someone from the old neighborhood! I would guess that most of the historical places we used to explore have pretty much been gutted and/or leveled since I lived there in the 70's.
