Try to find time to post more on the intersting newspapers from the "CHEROKEE TRIBE."

Yes! the Cherokee's had their own newspaper "THe Cherokee Advocate" the birth of the newspaper was 1820 and was and then was changed to the "Cherokee Phoenix" when the United States Army uprooted the tribe and forced the tribe to migrate westward to Oklahoma's Indian Territory.

The Cherokee Tribe boasted an 86-letter alphabet and later printed a bilingual newspaper with some articles duplicated in English in hopes of interesting whites in tribal affairs. and points of view. The Advocate printed the most important national and international news, and even tried to unraveling the mysteries of the white man's sports, such as prize fighting.

We will try to post more on the subject of newspapers from the old west soon.

Johnnie: Looking forward to more information. I'll bet there were a few bumps in the road for a newspaper business back then. OJ

Johnnie: Looking forward to more information. I'll bet there were a few bumps in the road for a newspaper business back then. OJThanks O. J. for your concern on the bumps, in the road In the old west newspaper business just as there is bumps, in the road for any kind of business even today there is obstacles to put up with, but there is ways to get around all these "bumps" with a little ingenuity, but with you and Flation, and us riding shotgun we will get the stage in on time inspite of the bumpie roads. And we will try to find time to post more information on newspapers of the old west soon.

Yes! You are right O. J. it is very Irritating, that the roads to "Ghosttowns" are not maintained as they once were but thanks to us "Chosen Few" we are doing are part. It would be nice tobe able to clear the road of all the bumps, but that is up to owners of the of the Territory, to these ghosttowns, And the owners should take closer look at who wonders into the ghosttown city limits also.
