View Full Version : history of sulphur mines, would like to know more ghosttowns in La.

any info on ghosttowns in south west, La, i know of sulphur, which was moved in the early 1900's to where it currently is, been to where the sulphur mines are and the old town. The bank is still standing and the jail, the bank was built in the 1890's and is brick,the jail is a 2 story building,and the prison part is made out of chainlink fence, the town moved when the mines went dry, all on private propety owned by petro plants now, but town is in the woods in the back, had to sneak in, would not recommened as we got caught,

I live close to this area and would like to find in woods. Please advise directions to take to see old sulphur mines ghost town.
