We posted pictures from the Friends of Bodie event we went to on my September website if you want to take a look see: www.explorehistoricalif.com Just scroll down past the story for the month and there you will find them. My favorite picture though, was actually taken by someone else and posted on the www.friendsofbodie.org website. Let's see if I can post it here:

It's me as Madame Maggie Moore of Cerro Gordo ;) , my husband as a lowly miner, the lady in blue is Bodie ranger Terri Geisinger posing as Eleanor Dumont aka Madame Moustache, and the other woman is the infamous Rosa May of Bodie. What fun we had!

Here's a couple of the ghosttown of Bodie itself:

Madam Maggie...errr... Cecile, I assume Madam Maggie Moore ran one of the more sucessful business establishments in the friendly town of Bodie? Could a "lowly miner" have afforded to do business with her establishment? ;)
Great pictures, it looks like you all had a load of fun.

Madame Maggie Moore was only visiting The Friends of Bodie day in from Cerro Gordo where her establishment is....er...was Historically, I don't think she ever was in Bodie.

In Cerro Gordo there was no red light district as such, but Madame Moore ran the Waterfall which was at the entrance to town, and Madame Lola Travis ran the Palace of Pleasure which was at the other end of town at the top of the hill. Both women were quite well off.

now 2 yer old Maggie Moore Ho Dog can tell you a little bit about her namesake, at this link:

Ha! Maggie Moore Ho Dog in her red (what else) bandanna. She did a wonderful job writing. Her mentor, Papa Jake taught her well. ;)
