I haven't travelled much in Washington and could use some tips. I am looking for old mining towns that still have people living in them and many original buildings. Other than Roslyn, are there any good towns to visit there?

Thanks!

This is a good site for stuff in Eastern Washington:

What area are you lookingg for and what type of town specifically?

East of Roslyn is Liberty. (http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/wa/liberty.html) There are not a lot of old buildings there, but was worth taking photos. The beauty of the country in part makes the trip worthwhile.

There's also Ronald north of Roslyn. Out in the woods to the west of Ronald one can find old air vent stations for the coal mines.

Liberty was gold mining, Roslyn and Ronald were coal mining. Supposedly there were iron mines up around Peoh Point but that was 80-100 years ago so there's not much evidence left. Peoh Point used to be called Iron Mountain even, back then.
