View Full Version : Beaver City, Chafee County, Colorado

Hi folks. I have been looking at every town listed in the website's interactive map and have become quite taken by Beaver City. The web posting says it's near Granite and as I've googled around there I think I have located some possible locations but I'd like to get it as narrowed down as I can. So, would anyone possibly be able to provide GoogleEarth coordinates? Even approximates would be really useful.

Also, on the web posting there's a photo which states that Beaver City is "Maintained by the Clear Creek Canyon Historical Society".
I did a web search and thought I'd found an email address for this Society - tony@clearcreekcounty.org but, they emailed back saying they could not help, as they were nin a different county!! Well, I know that NOW!

Does anyone know how to contact these people?
I have a bit of "an ask" for them. I notice 2 of the cabins are very substantial and in very good order. So I was going to ask if it's possible to spend a night there.
Am I dreaming? Having myself on?
Can you camp there, if access to the cabins is denied?
I really like the sound of Beaver City because it says access is possible by 2 wheel vehicle. As I've mentioned, I'm an amputee, so I can't hike too far or in terrain that's difficult. With that in mind, I was wondering when could I reasonably expect snow to be melted there? Is May too soon?
Thanks in advance for any info.
