Not sure if this is in the correct forum, but I am looking to take some day trips around arizona to some ghost towns. Where do I start as far as actually getting into "ghost towning"? If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. Thanks in advance for any help.

Get some good maps of your state, like a DeLorme or Benchmark State Atlas. USGS maps online help to locate and plan, but not much help out in the boonies.

If you got one or can afford one, a decent GPS is a good thing too.

At the top of each page (this website) is a drop down menu, select your state and what county and click on any of the towns listed for a brief description.

Do a search for the towns you might be interested on here to see if there's any updated or current info.

With that info, you can find most all ghost towns on the mentioned maps and go from there.

Google Earth is good to use too. Some of the ghost town names still show up on there. If not the town itself GE can also find streets named after the old town that would put you in the right area.
