Silver City, ID has an annual open house the second weekend after Labor Day. Is anyone else going?

I have always wanted to go to their open house and either something comes up or I'm up there at the wrong time. This time, we'll be up there the weekend before the open house. How's that for bad luck? Why can't our outings to Idaho ever coincide with the open house?

I'm not sure what to expect at the "open house" but the website says the owners of some of the buildings will have them open for the public to view. I've reserved the last room in the Idaho Hotel and after 25 years of studying the history of the town I'm finally going. Will be flying across the country then driving another 600 miles to get there. Hopefully there will be mostly history buffs and not a crowd of careless people as would like to have the old west element in the air. I'm dressing in "semi-period" clothing and want to take some video.

A few weeks ago I visited Silver City for the first time and I was very impressed with the number of intact buildings and the overall character of the town. I was also disappointed to find that I missed the open house - but there's always next year!

I have about 75 Silver City photos here: http://www.westernmininghistory.com/gallery/5598/modern/towns/
