Hi! I've been exploring ghost towns, mines, mining camps and other historic sites since the 1980s. The past few years I've been trying to photographically document as many of these places as I can, before they are gone forever. I have a section of my website devoted to this effort.

Also, I just finished posting an account of my 2011 Nevada trip, plus pics and a couple videos:

I saw a lot of historic buildings and ruins, old mines, equipment, vehicles and other neat stuff. Many of the vehicles and equipment are documented in detail on my Vintage Machinery page, including some old-fashioned gas pumps, a Chevy tanker truck, two different mine hoists, a Farmall tractor, and a mint-condition, 1923 Model T Ford:

I visited the Nevada Northern Railway Museum too, and got plenty of photos of #40, a 4-6-0 steam locomotive built by Baldwin in 1910.

Hey Ray; thanks for posting....we really enjoyed reading about your trip through Nevada along with the pictures and videos! Amazing photos, too! My wife and I recently did a similar trip, starting in Virginia City, heading East on "America's Loneliest Highway" 50 through Austin and Eureka to Ely, then south through Pioche to Las Vegas, staying at the small towns enroute. Loads of fun, and very interesting!

Thank you for your blog! It looks like you had a great trip! I'm now inspired to check out all of those locations in Nevada as most would all be new to me.

Nice pics, looks like you hit plenty of the good stuff to see.

BTW the ford pick up you saw in Baker, NV is a 1956.
