Here's an easy 4WD adventure for those of us in southern Arizona. This trip (mostly high clearance 2WD) winds its way across the grasslands and valleys near Sonoita. You will pass a few old mines, corrals and interesting rock features as you make your way to Bathtub Tank. This is a fairly unique dam/tank built into a narrow canyon. Rumor has it that a long time ago miners/ranchers put in an old cast iron tub at the top of the dam with a ladder to access it. Although the ladder was there, I did not find the tub, but I could have easily missed it. Anyone know any more info about this place? Very beautiful.

More info and details on the trip can be found here: http://www.experience-az.com/adventures/4wd/bathtubtank/bathtubtank.html

That mossy wet dam looks cooling, thinking about the 109's right around the corner. I found a concrete dam on Harshaw creek in the Patagonias much like this one. Some of those ranchers put a lot of work into water harvesting. Course there were no regulations then.
