: I live in the San Diego area. The closest thing we have to ghost towns are the many mining ruins left in the Julian/Cuyamaca area, such as Eagle mine, the Stonewall mine, and the Warlock mine. There are numerous mines in the Banner grade area also.
: They are all within an hour of San Diego.
: If you travel about 3 hours east towards the Coorado river, there are the ghost towns/sites of Tumco, Ogilby, and Picacho.
