Hello. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good desert ghost town, preferably one closest to Austin, TX. My friends and I are looking for a place with a lot of abandon buildings to explore. We would prefer not to trespass if possible as it seems Texas landowners can be rather deadly if crossed. We're expecting a four to eight our drive if not a little longer if it's deemed worthy.

That would be none other than Luckenbach, TX. (to the best of my knowledge).
GPS Coordinates: 3010'50.04"N x 9845'22.13"W
It's got a little Country Store, Post Office and Bar.
Mr. Jerry Jeff Walker recorded his album "Viva Terlingua!" there in the early 1970's
and Willie and Waylon sang about it.
