I regret to inform that Dr. Stephen L. Carr has passed away. Dr. Carr was the author of Utah Historical Guide to Ghost Towns as well as Utah Ghost Rails. I count him as a major influence in my early adolescence intrigue of ghost towns and was fortunate to join many other ExpeditonUtah.com members in taking some ghost town classes with him. We were able to tour a handful of sites in the Northern Utah area as part of the class and it was a high light of my 'ghost towning' hobby to be able to tour those sites with such a legend. Dr. Carr's passion for sharing information and tireless research has enriched the lives of so many. I wish his family comfort and may he rest in peace.

We have his book on Utah's Ghost Towns; purchased in the mid 70's when we lived near Salt Lake, and would take our IHC Scout out to the towns in his book. He will be missed.

Glad to hear it inspired others to travel!
