: We left the Napa Valley around 7:30 AM on Sunday and headed for Nevada. I made an impulse decision to visit Rawhide(#1) and we were both disappointed and put of schedule.
: Jess's new F-350 though helped make up time on Higway 50 and we were able to visit Austin(#2) and Eureka(#3) before making it to Pioche(#4) around twighlight. We checked into the overland hotel and grubbed at the Silver Cafe before beeling up to the bar at the Overland. Besides a pretty good bloody mary the night was uneventful.
: Monday moring we arose, ate at Wilson's Cafe and toured the town before trucking again. We hit the road for our desitination of Belmont, Nevada but made such good time we decided to head into Tonopah(#5) and make another impulse choice to head for Goldfield(#6) in hopes that the Goldfield Hotel might be giving tours. Last year, due to food poisoning, we were not able to do the tour when we drove through. I'm still kicking myself for being sick. We did make something of the trip and had a drink at the Santa Fe Saloon before heading back to Belmont!!!
: Belmont(#7) was great...we stayed at the Belmont Inn...I highly reccomned this if you are looking for a nice place to stay. The host Judy was awesome. She had many great stories regarding the area and mining history, past and present. Her partner Louis was much of the same.
: On Tuesday Moring Jess and I visited Diana's Punch Bowl and then trekked back through Belmont, we visited the cemtery and Saw the grave of John Longstreet, before heading into Manhattan(#8). We stopped at the Manhhattan Bar for some cool sodas and then moved on to Tonopah, where we visited the Central Nevada Museum!
: After the museum we hauled to Bodie(#9). We arrived around 5:00 and spent the whole two hours there before the park closed. It was a bittersweet trip...it's the 5th Memorial Day trip we've been there, but we plan to branch outward next year and visit towns we've yet to see in Kansas, New Mexico, Montana and South Dakota to name a few!!!
: Afte Bodie, we headed to Bridgeport, checkied into the Silver Maple and had dinner at the Bridgeport Inn. We had a small world experience when we found out our waitress from the past several years is good friends with the family of one of our best friends!!!
: On Wednesday morning we had breakfast at the Hays Street Cafe and moved out. We visited the Reno Hilton and took them for some dough before visiting the Mountain View Cemetery.
: We left Reno a little after one o'clock and headed back to the Valley. We did manage to fit in one last town...Colfax(#10)!
: Memorial Day Trip #5 is in the books!!!
