Kirwin is in grisley bear country at about 9,000'. Keep these factors in mind. I've heard of no population. A good portion of the town was wiped out in 1907 by an avalanche.

My new book, Ghost Towns of Wyoming will be coming out April 8th. It has information about Kirwin. Please email me at bar4916@yahoo.com for more information.

I was thinking about visiting the area as I will be touring Wyoming most of the summer promoting my new book.

Kirwin is about 20 miles from Mee*****e. Amelia Earheart was in the process of building a home there when she disappeared. Mee*****e has a memorial to her. The last time I was there I found some buildings scattered about. It was years ago. It IS prime grizzley country so follow bear rules.

I don't know why the forum won't let me spell Mee*****e. I'll try it like this Me Tee t see? Just take away the spaces.
