You definately want to make a side trip up towards Black Hawk, A fine mix of mines and abandoned mines etc, mixed with refurbished buildings and new casinos. A very interesting and beautiful hike can be found on the way to the Bobcat mine. I haven't got my topos handy, but drop me Email, and I'd be happy to give you directions. Before you go, give a call to Maps Unlimited (303) 755-6277 or 800-456-8703 9955 E. Hmapden Englewood, co. they have a web site at www.coloradomaps.com. Very knowledgeable people good selection of maps and books, they've helped me with several projects. The Denver public library central branch in Downtown has a fantastic compilation of maps, photos and historical records. An hour or two here will yield a wealth of info for your trip and future trips. Hope this helps! Feel free to drop a line if needed!
