It was on the verge of collapse anyway and without extensive repair would have fallen down on its own. The Forest Service is engaged in moved the creek bed back to its original position, it having been altered to serve the mine. Nearly all the buildings in Coolidge have collapsed, but it is still worth visiting. Coolidge is a 20th century ghost town. A good source of information about Coolidge is the book "One Man's Dream" by Shirley Nichols and Lorene Lovell.

The mill itself has mostly been torn down with just a small part of it still standing. There are a lot of debris around where the mill is being torn down. As an earlier posting mentioned this is a company ghost town from this century and as such does not have notched log buildings as most of the older camps did. This camp was constructed with lumber. However it is well worth the effort to see it. Also the Book "One Man's Dream" really helps one understand what they are seeing and how it came about.
