Default Ghost Towns or Other Sites Near San Diego

Are there any good sites of interest near San Diego?

I'll be taking a trip there next summer.

The closest thing to a ghost town near San Diego would probably be the Warlock Mine group on the Banner grade near Julian. It is about an hour drive. Several mine structures remain, as well as several sealed shafts. There are also numerous mines in the area if you look hard enough. Other than that you have to make the 5 hour drive to the Death Valley area.

    Rob,

Thanks, I was reading about that in Phil Varney's Southern California's Best Ghost Towns.

Would like to see it when I'm there.
