Default Tweed's Cabin in the Dragoons.

Has anyone been to the location of Tweed's Cabin in the Dragoons?

I visited the location with some friends in December 1992 after reading about it in Arizona Highways. It is also known as Whitehouse Ruin.

Boss Tweed, the leader of New York's Tammany Hall stayed or lived here. Here's a photo:

That photo of Brunkow's Cabin is also one of mine and it looks quite different from Tweed's Cabin which is larger or was at the time I took the photo.

Some info on Tweed's Cabin can be found here:

    Question

Where'd you find that cabin, Ghostdancer? I've been all over the Dragoon Mountains, and I don't believe I've seen that ruin.

Check out the Dos Cabezas area, near there. Quite a few interesting things to see, just stike out on any road heading towards the mountains....

When I visited Tweed's Cabin with some friends we went in from a road that went off the highway in St. David just past the monastery going east. The USGS topo Knob Hill covers this area. I believe that the gate to this road is now locked.

I have been to Dos Cabezas and have photos of it on the Dos Cabezas page and have also been into the mountains where the Elma Mine is located.
