    Question Ghost Towns around Black Hills SOuth Dakota

    i am going to visit the Black Hills this summer and am looking for some ghost towns to visit. Does anyone know of any?

    Try Hill City and Deadwood. They're not actual Ghost Towns, but have much history to offer. Hill City especially, has a number of abandoned buildings. Check the SD GT page at gt.com, I'm sure you can find a few sites in the Lawrence/Pennington county and vacinity. If those ideas don't work out, perhaps you might try buying a good ghost towns book for the Black Hills region. Check the posts under 'Latitude and Longtitude' thread where I have placed a useful list of links, where the link at the very top of the list will take you to a fantastic online book store.
    Oh, and remember to check Ghost Town lists for the counties in Wyoming and Nebraska which are next door to the Black Hills.
