Although many people think of New York as bustling cities and suburbs, there are many "forgotten areas" in the state where towns are falling down and population has steadily declined since the late 1800's or early 1900's. Central NY State which is a beautiful area has many such towns. Just drive along route 206 in Delaware County. Things are much the same on rt 10 and rt 23 in Chenango County west of rt 12. Towns like Pitcher, East Pharsalia, Linklaen, and McDonough are well on their way to Ghost Town status.
Anyone here familiar with these towns or this area? Joe
