    Exclamation Chestnut Lodge info......

The research they were performing at Chestnut Lodge was nothing less than human cruelty. I lived next door to the facility for 30 years and still have trouble sleeping at night after the screams that eminated from the 'hospital' at night. If you have chosen to do research about the hospital use extreme caution with the information you learn. The facts may haunt you for a lifetime.......

spooky stuff. After reading your post I did some minor research of my own...thought this would be of interest to anyone curious about this place...

edit: looks like just a few weeks ago they were given the green light to turn that place into multiple 1 million dollar plus condos. The main house and many of the out buildings will remain intact. Good lord, imagine living in that place?! I smell trouble....

    Default I Have Stories

I WAS IN CHESNUT LODGE,ADOLECENT DIVISION FROM 1976-1979.WE LIVED In
houses but had a seclusion room.THE care was very good.
    medication was not used.If you
got upset you were subject to
being tied down to a bed in cold wet sheets for three hours to
change body tempature.there was not the type of medications
that there are today.I too always wanted to write about
the history of the lodge and track down people that worked and lived threre.

How much for the moose head? .... and by the way, what happened to the other end of the moose? Either end would look great over my fireplace.

The moose head is only a front for the front of the moose. The rest of the moose is installed in the wall. The head was supposed to go in the hall, but the wall in the hall wasn't tall enough to accomodate a full size bull moose.
Now the head with the plaque is only $20, but the cost to extricate the rest of the moose is $6500. A moose installation crew will turn their blueprints inside-out, and uninstall the moose remainder from behind the tall wall.
So in summary, the moose head with the behind from behind the tall wall will cost
$6520. Transportation to new location is of course extra.
