Default Letter of Support for Bodie SHP Needed Today

I received this e-mail from Bodie Ranger Terri Geisinger - still a little time to get your e-mail letter of support off:

    Hello All,

Sorry for this terribly late notice but I need all the help I can get on this important matter. I realize that you may not read your email everyday and I also realize that you may not have time to sit down and write this letter...but, If you can please do!

Bodie is up for a stabilization grant. We are going up against other parks who need the money as well. We stumbled across this available grant at the last moment...there will be a Bodie presentation given in Sacramento on Thursday.

We need to have support letters in tomorrow! Yes, tomorrow! That would be April 26!

If you want to learn more about this grant there is a posting on bodie.com under the message board.

If you could just write a short letter, a long letter, a touching note, WHY you think Bodie needs to be saved...then please send it to: Susan...subject: Bodie Support Letter at...

    susan@sierraspf.org

Thank you good friends and family!

Our representatives of Bodie went to Sacramento on Thursday. They were number 18 on the list of Parks asking for the grant. They had 4 minutes to give the presentation on why Bodie needs the grant. Everyone had PowerPoint. Our presentation was given the old fashion way. Black and white photos of what Bodie once was and what it is today. The panel was very stoic and seemed half a sleep at first, then perked up as the presentation gathered steam.

The team was asked to keep available until 3am in case of questions...they found out early in the evening that Bodie was given the entire grant!

We did it! Thank you for your letters of support!

    I am still smiling!

    Terri
