All of Dave Wright's web sites appear to be gone including this one, it doesn't sound too good.

The Death Valley site might be down for work as the park itself is more or less closed right now for summer.

Sucks about David's site though. Hopefully he'll chime in now and then here still. He had quite a bit of resource to call on.

Death-Valley.us was NOT related to or ran by the NPS. And for reference, Summer is rather busy in DV! The foreign tourist flock there to experience the heat for themselves! I recently needed to book a room for a Sunday night/Monday morning stay, and Furnace Creek Resort had only 2 rooms available! That should give you an idea of how busy it is during the summer.

Unfortunately Death-Valley.us has ceased to exist. There are no plans to bring it back now or in the future.

Well, I am sort of eating my own words now. Previous summers seemed busy to me, however, so far this summer things are real quite in DV. I would like to edit my above statement and say that summer visitation is lower then winter, however, it seems more folks arrive by bus then rental car during to summer months.

    No actually like:

    "It's hot heeeeeere" *whine*

I actually heard that there once, and she was serious. IIRC it was only 108 or something at the time.
