Default Location to film horror short

A friend and I are planing on filming a horror short and thought a ghost town would be fitting. I was wondering if anyone may have any suggestions for a good location.

    Default Vernonia

Vernonia, Oregon might be a good locale. There was once a giant lumber complex there, and a mill pond. Once the complex was sold it was burned to film a movie scene. Now some of the old building shells still stand, with trees growing up inside them, and there's lots of piles of concrete from the collapsed older structures.

You have a nice spooky fog on the millpond in the morning. Also there's plenty of old buildings in nearby towns, an old abandoned school and feed store on fern hill road north of Vernonia...that building would be really scary at night, there's still lace curtains in the windows.
