Your links go to the same place.

I know there are 2 or 3 mines open for tours during the summer. IIRC they are supposed to be still operating to a point. I'm guessing you're looking for an abandoned to explore?

Mostly just looking for information for an editor for a magazine. Exploration, very likely.

    Any more info?

Can't find some of my info I had. My old PC died and I haven't gotten around to trying to scavenge any of my info from it. I need to do it, as I had probably a couple of hundred Nevada based sites alone.

Anyway, I posted a couple of links I do have still available. What ever help they may be.

    http://www.nbmg.unr.edu/

The Nevada mine database. Link is down off and on recently, I believe they are working or updating it. Has pretty much any info you'd ever want on a specific mine or finding them.

Link to mine location maps from UNR

Link to the Chollar Mine, a tour mine in Virginia City.
    http://www.visitvirginiacitynv.com/a...ollarmine.aspx

Link to a Reno based mine/cave explorers forum. Only thing is it hasn't been updated as of late. Might be able to contact someone off there that could really help.

I've been to and around Virginia City/Gold Hill/Silver City numerous times. The biggest issue is most everything is private property and they don't take kindly to snoops of any kind.

There's not too many completely abandoned sites to see from what I have found.
