    Default Chiricahua Alert

Anyone going into the Chiricahuas soon might want to keep both eyes open.

Pitiful, just pitiful. We need to do whatever it takes to protect our border. Seems like there's more concern for the welfare of illegals than for those living along the border such as those in this article.

Joel, did you ever see this article, also from Tucson Weekly three years ago? I believe I posted it here at the time.

Boy, you sure do have some problems down that way. The mind boggles at how this is allowed to happen - in America!

I remember that article. I believe that I read it on paper though.
The illegal stories from the Tucson Weekly have been very hard hitting for years. It's a shame that the major news media ignores it. I loved the piece on how the Border Fence is working or how it isn't.

For those from out of state, this isn't a rant about illegals, it's just basic safety for anyone going into the Borderlands. It's common courtesy here to warn others if they might be going into a troubled area. The Chiricahuas have been lightly traveled by the smugglers and illegals the last few years. If there's been a major shift, there are going to be quite a few shocked folks.

Honestly, if I lived in an area that remote and the Border Patrol and local police wouldn't help out, I'd be looking into a .50 cal sniper rifle and home made claymores.

Arm up, start shooting and don"t report it. If only it were that easy. How sad that is.

A few years back, I read in my backpackers Mag, that some desert in A.Z....I can't remember the name now,...is considered the most dangerous desert in the country. For this very same reason.

It was allowed to happen because self-serving politicians on both sides pandered to the vote, instead of fixing what was broken.

Hope you'll be able to make it over here soon, Pete. Also, you might wanna brush up on yer Espanol, senor Pedro.
