    Default Wellington AKA Tye WA.

I've been lurking on this site for about a year now. Great site by the way. I'm in a way blessed because I live in NV so there's alot of ghost towns to explore. But I came from WA, and was planning a trip up there in the spring. I was looking at the WA page and the town I was looking for isn't there.

So this leads me to my question. Why or how do I get a little town named Wellington, WA put on the map? It is also know as Tye, WA. It has a cool history. And was also the site of the worst avalanche disaster in US history.

On 01/March1910 2 trains 1 passenger and 1 mail. Were swept off the tracks by an avalanche into Tye creek. 98 people died. After that the town was renamed Tye, WA.

Before that the town mainly existed as a rail stop and rest point for passenger's and crews traveling across Stevens Pass.

I have map quardinates if needed. And please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Thanks,
    SLM

After you write it up with as much info as you have, and any pictures, go to the home page and look for the "EMAIL US" link on the left, under "TALK TO OTHER GHOST TOWNERS".

Read the disclaimer for sending emails and then follow the directions. Remember the path for future submissions, corrections, or additions. Because of vandalism, beware of posting exact location directions, and thanks for taking the time to post new info for gt enthusiasts.
