Default Ronald, Washington....Not much written about this little town.

Going through my Washington stuff, I found this little town. Not much info on this place but it really had some nice buildings left. I did a quick Google on this town and didn't find any other pictures.

It's a coal mining town established just after the nearby town of Roslyn, also a coal mining town, built by Northwestern Improvement Company, a subsidiary of the Northern Pacific Railroad, to supply coal for the Northern Pacific. It's still an active community, mostly a semi resort town.

Beautiful, there's a lovely contrast between the green & brown of the north west & the brown & olive of the south west. Thanks for working these pics up for us.

Arizona doesn't have nearly as much green, but we got a nice blue.

One of these days I'll get to my Arizona photos. I spend most of my time now in the southwestern deserts. Thanks for the note.

Hi Darin, just remember that these photos were taken some time ago so I don't know what's left. I did a quick check but couldn't find any recent photos of it on this site or on the web.

Well, for those interested in an little comparison, I made a trip up to Ronald last week, and tried to match a few photos for a then and now. Unfortunately, out of this group, the only building I could find was the general store.

There are lots of other buildings left, but most have been restored. I'll post separately seen about what else is there today.

Looks like I missed a few buildings when I was at Ronald last Saturday. Sure is great country up there.

Don, where in the town site were these two story structures located? I must have somehow missed these when I was in Ronald a few weeks ago. Are these near the old school building and gym?
