Default Rand Mining District, The Consolidated Mine

OK, for the next few posts, we'll go to the Rand Mining District near Randsburg, California. These photos were taken 43-44 years ago so things have changed but what a place it was. Hundreds of mines, headframes and structures remained along with old abandoned cars. This first set of photos is of the Consolidated Mine. It's just one of many that I have photos of.

I apologize for the poor condition of some of these photos but they have really suffered from colorshift and fade. I was able to bring most of them back so ya could see what the place used to look like but the condition of the slides is rather poor. Anyway, enjoy and I'll process some more of these in a couple of days.

We, too have an interest in this area, and also in the Randsburg Railway. Looking forward to your pictures, thanks!

What a neat place, good shots.

I'm just starting to scan some old slides too & am surprised at how well they usually clean up with the editing software. I'm finding it easy to get carried away & do too much "improvement." No need to worry about the quality of yours, they look plenty good to me.
