    Thumbs up

Thanks Don! It was scenes like these that excited me about the history of the area the first time I saw it in 1972. I loved looking around the horizon, searching for a sign or reminant of mining activity. I also love the different styles of architecture of the buildings. There seemed to be at least 8 or 10 cemetaries and it was interesting to read the markers and think about the life they may have lived.
Is that the Makay mansion or the Chollar mansion in the photo in front of the Forth Ward School? It's been awhile since I was in Virginia City.

Thanks Guys, that's the Chollar Mansion in back of the Forth Ward School. That was before it was restored.

Beautiful! I was there in the early 1970s but my memory is almost zip except for the touristy stuff. I love that first photo.
