OK, so the "S. Werr" building doesn't look as bad now as I'd thought. Here's a picture of it taken last week.

We ate in the first building photographed. It's now called "Cafe del Rio", and it has been extensively modified. I love the look of your picture. Alas, it looks really different now. I'll post a photo once I fire up my old PC with photo editing software on it so it won't be too big (I'll shrink it down to 800 x 600 Mp or so).
We ate there last year and it wuz durn good food. Hope it's still the same.

Indeed it had good food. Supposedly in the off season there are only two restaurants open after 7:00 PM-- Cafe del Rio and a Chinese place. Since the Chinese place also serves as the red light district museum, we figured the former was more kid friendly.

If you find any more Virginia City shots not yet posted on your site, PLEASE share them here. Virginia City has become a kind of Mecca for me. Its connection with the Comstock in general (and the Bank of California, the Virginia and Truckee, and Asian trade in particular) have me hooked. I'd love to spend at least a week there and extra time wading through the Territorial Enterprise archives.

Same here . . . 'cept the year was 1975, my 2nd and her 1st. Ed Colletti was the JP and congratulatory drinks were on Gordon Lane at the Union Brewery. BTW, we're still together.

I have plenty more shots of VC. I just have to get to them and scan them. I assume that you checked my web site and scrolled down to VC for some more that I didn't post here. We almost bought a house up on B Street. It was an old Victorian. We went back to look at it and the seller had doubled the price.

That second photo is outstanding (kinda like the others - just different LOL).

Reminds me of The Munsters mansion. Nice.
