    Default Ludlow, California.....Part 4

Here we go again. Another part of this series on Ludlow. A great metropolis in the land of things that wiggle, squirm, bite, crawl, screech, sting, rattle, and in general, don't like you.

Photo #1 shows the Ludlow Curve, just west of town. The following picture shows the same curve and was taken from the hill shown in the 1st photo.

Photo #3 shows part of the residential section of town and the folowing picture is one of the remaining houses.

Color photos were taken during the past month.

    Nifty lil Budwiser car.

I still have a thing for the caboose. They were always my favorite. I think because I've never seen the inside of one before and the fact that they aren't used anymore just makes them that much more interesting.

I figured that somebody would pick up on that. Poor old Vulture will probably start crying.

    Cool pictures!

With photo in hand, I reckon one could figure out which of the houses from the photo the remaining one is.

Looks like someone put a new roof on that house not long before it was vacated, as it appears to be in pretty good condition.

Nice work, Don. The roof on that remaining house looks pretty new. A couple windows and a door and it is move-in ready.

Got plenty more coming NJ. I don't know when that roof was put on. I've been going out there for quite a few years and I've never seen any activity around that part of Ludlow. All the buidings around, on Main Street, are abandoned. I'll have more photos of this in the next few posts. The whole town is owned by one gentleman. He also owns the gas stations on both sides of I-40, The Dairy Queen, the Ludlow Coffee Shop, the airstrip, the motel and the trailer park which is where his employees live. His daughter and her husband help him run the town and they all live there in some of the original houses. The BNSF Railway has a maintainence yard there which is in the center of town, surrounded by abandoned buildings.
