    Default Speaking of Cleator

Cleator is a small town on the way to Crown King. The road up there is on an old railroad grade and the place still has some folks living there and the bar is still open.

I took this pix during the Crown King fire a couple of years ago so the road was closed at Cleator.

Note during the summers down here if the LEO are going to be stopped for some time they leave their cars running for the AC and pop the hood a bit to help keep them from overheating.

Oh and check out the price on the gas pump!

When I was in Cleator the first time back in 1987 I met Tom Cleator at the store which at that time was open.

The bar is still open. I think they have the patrons take turns holding up the roof in between beers.

Is the bar part of the store? I don't remember now, but that may have been where I met the man. I stopped in to get coffee or a soft drink.
