I particularly liked the image of the old dump truck that was apparently drug out of an old quarry to serve as a photographic subject. I checked with an expert and found it is a Corbitt, probably from the late 40's to early 50's.

Corbitt trucks were mfg in N. Carolina and sold a number of trucks to the military during WW II. The company started out in the late 1890's mfg buggies and moved gradually into trucks. It went out of business in 1954 when the original owner who was in his 70's could not find anyone to run the business. I remember that the sawmill in the small town where I grew up had a Corbitt they used for hauling logs. They were heavier built than many others were, but the day came when lighter trucks meant a larger payload, as roads got better and were not as hard on frames and suspensions.
