    Default Telegraph City, CA

    Quick visit last week. Hot day, lots of flies. Tens of thousands of 'em, but they weren't biting stable flies, they just wanted the salt in my sweat. Site easily accessible on paved road that runs off of CA SR-4 about 15 miles east of Farmington (I went on my motorcycle). It was eerily quiet; no sounds or other evidence of humans or cattle or anything else except the flies. Some snapshots:

    Default Nice pics, Anyone have more info on the site?

    Great pics looks like a nice area except for the flies.
    Below is all I could find about the old town (village?)

    "Telegraph City is an unincorporated community in Calaveras County, California. It lies at an elevation of 653 feet (199 m). A post office operated here from 1862 to 1894.[2] The place was named for its location on the telegraph line between Stockton and Sonora.[2]"
