In the Inyo Mountains between Death and Owens Valley...nearest real town is Lone Pine. The silver and trade between Cerro Gordo and Los Angeles, helped turn Los Angeles into a thriving metropolis. Here is the link to the website we run for Cerro Gordo which is a privately owned town opened to day visitors.

Nice, I look forward to this. I just visited Cerro Gordo for my first time earlier this month.

When were you there, D.V. Jim? I'm one of the part time caretakers up there...did I meet you?

i was there on the 10th of October. Bob was the only care taker up there at the time. Maybe we'll meet at some point, I loved Cerro Gordo and plan to visit as often as possible. There is so much more to see than what I could see in just a few short hours.
