Mohawk, AZ back in the day.
Does anything remain of Mohawk, Arizona off of I-8 between Yuma and Gila Bend? I recall going through it as a kid and all I remember is a gas station.

But does anything remain now?

I don't know but I hope so. Just short of 3 yrs and I'll be retired and tent trailer and my 4Runner will be my main home.
Me too.But mainly just over the Winter.Back to Austria just when Rattler back out :-)
Back in January we drove past a few spots on I-8 between Yuma and Tucson that I figured were gas stations back in the day (foundations and partial walls). I didn't think of stopping (especially since they weren't near off ramps. Could one of them have been Mohawk???
This area was named after a common name seen in Upstate New York. The town of Mohawk is only twelve miles from John Butterfield's (Overland Mail Company) home in Upstate New York. This was a "New York State Stage Line" in many ways. Five of the twenty-six Butterfield Stage Stations in Arizona had New York State names. Most of the stage drivers and many of the employees were from Upstate New York. Nothing remains of the original Butterfield stage station.
