Coronado Camp is/was a small adobe cabin in the Canada Del Oro wash along the Charouleau Gap Trail which runs between Catalina and Oracle in southern Arizona. I've been four-wheeling on this road since the 1980s and found some old pictures that shows how much has changed over the years. In the 1980s, the cabin was in very good shape. Full metal roof, walls, etc. In 2001, some of the roof had collapsed. There was a fire (I believe in 2005) in the area and I believe that is what caused much of the destruction you see today (most likely helped along by some idiot vandals). Here's a picture that shows the difference between the 1980s and 2011.

You can also see the road conditions and the shape of the camp in this 2001 video I took at: http://www.experience-az.com/adventu...gapvideo2.html

Thought this was interesting (and a little depressing) on the loss of the structure in so little time.

Does anyone know the history of Coronado Camp?
