I started working with a guy new to Nevada last year and once in a while we'll go out and take pictures. He hadn't been to Rhyolite before, and we had volunteered to take some shots for some friends running the Tough Mudder competition near Beatty a few months ago. I figured it would be a good time to take my friend to Rhyolite for his first ghost town. Naturally, I couldn't resist getting some more shots. The cloud coverage was perfect. The sun had been up for a bit but was still a bit hidden behind a couple hills when we first arrived. I'm happier with the way these shots came out over the previous set. Here's a link to the album from my facebook page. It's public, so you shouldn't have any trouble viewing them. Hope you enjoy!

Quick edit - I forgot to mention one thing. In my last visit, I didn't notice the gaps people had pulled in the fence around the train station, which was fantastic. It gave me the opportunity to get some good shots of it. All photos were taken with a Canon 5D Mark III.

First time to Rhyolite (with some Goldfield shots as well):

Nice photos Ruger, is there anyone out there watching over the site? When I visited years ago, there was a caretaker on the premises.

As far as I know, there's still a caretaker. There is a place where someone lives toward the back of the site, but the last couple times I went up there I didn't see anyone other than people visiting like I was.
