Thanks for the link. I actually have some of these for Nevada in both original and reprint. My wife thinks I'm wierd for having such old maps, but they come in handy.

What a dream of a find! My house was originally built in 1903 (you can see the old stone foundation of a small section of the house from the "dirt room" -part of the basement that they used to store their canning from way back when). and it's represented by a house square from the 1913 topo map of my area here in Washington!
I see another summer of ghost town adventures coming!

Those random black dots on the topo maps usually indicate one ranch or home (though it depends on the resolution).

You might find this helpfull. The BLM have original survey maps. GLO maps show original homesteads by state and county!
