    : Hey Joel,

: In the mid 1970's we took a couple of trips through Cerro-Gordo. I was pretty young at that time so any details from my perspective wouldn't be acurate. We did hike up to a "lost" mining camp about 3 miles heading out of Cerro-Gordo heading toward Death Valley. Unfortunetly I'm not sure what the coordinates are. It was on the right hand side of the road and a descent hike up the hill (5-600 yards). I thought it was approx. 3 miles but heading North-East. Does that sound right? Anyway, we found alot of unique items that the miners left behind ie., Long over coat, tools, boots, boxes (dynamite!) and newspapers. We left it all there of course. I may be able to find out what the name of that camp would be, if iy sounds like the one you're after?

: P.S. Is your "rig" a blazer. I live in the Palm Springs area and may have seen you on I-10? All for now. Roger

: I believe The camp your talking about is the Morning Star. If there is a crumbling tram tower by the upper shack thats it.
