Default NV - In Memory of the Crewmen. Mines, Crash Sites, Applegate Trail...History

Finished our yearly dirt bike trip through NV this summer...thought you might like a look. This site only allows 4 pictures per post so I will post up some pictures here and link to the whole ride report if you would like to see the rest of them.

Link to entire ride report/pictures: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797608

First day we had a special mission in mind...a memorial to a WWII B24 bomber crew that crashed serving our country.

Memorial loaded on the bike and ready for the trip up into the mountains.

Memorial planted at the crash site

More pics of the crash site in the link above..Lots of wreckage at the site (All 4 engines, super chargers, landing gear and tons of small parts. The plane burned when it went in so there are large puddles off aluminum laying around).

Great post. A bike trip like you all did sounds like the experience of a lifetime. Do you have a Hodaka? I had an Ace 100 years ago as did my grandparents. Great running bikes and surprisingly powerful for such small engines.

Excellent photos! Very cool you guys planted that memorial too. Do you think the roads to the plaque would be passable in an SUV with normal clearance?
