Default Seneca, CA at risk from forest fire

Heroic firefighting efforts are being made to save Seneca, CA (Plumas County.)
The Chips fire threatens the remaining historic buildings, and about 900 homes and cabins in at nearby Canyon Dam, Prattville and general Lake Almanor area.
Gel and sprinklers are reported to have been used to coat the historic structures. 1,000+ firefighters are making a stand.

Hwy 70 is functioning as a containment line, and Belden seems safe at the moment.

The Seneca area is under evacuation at the moment. Depending on when this fire goes out, I may be able to drive through the area and assess damage.

I have often wondered if there were any remains at Caribou: I've heard that in the 90's some government agency razed the buildings there. Perhaps the fire will uncover previously hidden foundations.

The inciweb site has a remarkable, frequently-updated map of the fire area. News and links to pictures are available there.
