Default Vanishing North Dakota Towns and Structures

Greetings ghost town friends. It's be awhile.

Our ghost towns and abandoned places are under siege in North Dakota, from mother nature and man. We've seen a lot of historic structures fall victim to a construction boom in western North Dakota over the last few years, largely due to an influx of population due to the oil boom and a relative shortage of housing. And the extreme North Dakota weather has continued to wreak havoc on our historic places as well. A few examples below:

The steeple on this church has now collapsed.

The school above was moved to private property somewhere and no longer resides at it's former town site.

This school burned to the ground last year after a brush burning operation got out of control.

We could go on and on with examples of historic structures that have been lost over the last few years. We've been photographing these places at our site since 2003 and you've probably seen a post from us now and then here in this forum. But with these places disappearing at an ever increasing rate, we decided to take our project to the next level by doing a book. The idea is to get the photographs of these places off a web server and onto the printed page -- into the hands of people who cared about these places.

As a result, we've started a Kickstarter campaign to attempt to fund our book. We've got 30 days to reach our fundraising goal. If you're so inclined, we would appreciate any pledges and/or social media shares more than you know. And if you want to read more about this Kickstarter campaign, you can do that here.

    Thank you!

    Troy

Stunning photos and great idea for a book. Looks like your campaign is off to a great start too! I will definitely do my part to back the project, good luck.
