: People from L. A. would take the train up there.
: Today there are 130 people living there. Red Mountain

: Randsburg is still has an active gold mine. Some of the

: Which has mineral dry lakes.
: Just a little info on the area.
: Red Mountain is 23 miles North of 4 corners on Hwy 395. 23 miles south of China

Roland..........Is Red Mountain on Reservation land? I drive by Johannesburg and Atolia a few times a year and have stopped to check out a few mine shafts and buildings on the east/north? side of 395, just as you come into Atolia. There seems to be shafts and air vents all over the place. Pretty neat area to explore. Thanks for some of the history......
