Default BARKER RANCH IS OPEN TO VEHICLES

Barker Ranch, is the site that Manson and his followers were arrested at back in the late 1960s. The Ranch is now abandoned and within the Death Valley park boundaries. This site has myths and stories attached to it.

There are a few other older buildings too, one had a pool above the cabin place. I always wondered why were these built up there, not much around to ranch and surely a swimming pool is a little nuts to try and take care off in such an extreme desert.

I did the area in a rental Mitsubishi Endeavor...then again in a Ford Explorer. Really does not take much to get back too...not sure why people act like its hard. Just have an AWD vehicle, probably make it up the wash in a 2wd vehicle too.
